How about 7.40am from DXB with Emirates and a very obviously inexperienced crew. Served a full dinner at 8.30am and a full breakfast 4 hours later!
When questioned cc said very curtly "Thats just how we are doing it today"
Hmmmm at least BA crew are trained well enough to distinguish which trays to put in the oven .....

When NZ operated the morning HKG-LHR flight leaving around 9am, there was a full hot brekfast after departure, followed by a full dinner before landing around 2pm. I think most people were expecting breakfast after departure, and NZ did it pretty well

I get the 8:30am KWI-LHR flight & they serve breakfast early on. Aside from the fact it's usually rubbish irrespective of class, I find it's too late for breakfast & too early for lunch. I'd much rather they served a proper lunch about 3-4hrs in rather than a breakfast 1 hr in. We normally land around 1pm so it's 3ish by the time I get home, which is then too late for lunch.

Hi,
I flew Dubai London in CW yesterday and was really surprised with the food selection. The flight left Dubai at 9.20am which is 6.20am UK time.
Just after take-off, we have been served a full lunch menu:
Starter was a selection of Mezze or a plate of chili/lime prawns. (very spicy!!)
Main course was the famously BA overcooked piece beef or a tajine or cheese filled pasta with mushroom sauce.
Then cheese or a passion fruit mousse.
Im glad I had a full breakfast at my hotel prior to heading to the airport as a full lunch menu seems a bit hardcore for my stomach at 9 in the morning.
Would it be more suitable for BA to serve a nice full breakfast at that time instead of a full lunch? Does anyone agree?

Checked out the "breakfast" selection in the lounge. Thought probably get better food on the flight (it is true).
I actually rather have the lunch menu than breakfast menu as the breakfast can be quite disappointing. And by the time the flight takes off and the meal comes to you, it would be almost lunch time anyway.

I do this flight fairly frequently in CW / F (doing one next week) and like it just the way it is! Each to their own...
This way, it's about 11.30am local by the time I get some food, so am well ready for a more substantial bite. Also, I can tuck into a couple of glasses of wine with it to afford a nap after lunch before arriving into London...
I definitely prefer lunch on such flights rather than the terrible mixed grill that used to (still does?) appear in F on the early JFK flights.
