Lines at GRU
A little bit of search in FT told me that lines at GRU could be very long.
Arriving there from Europe next saturday morning (22nd) and leaving the same day in the evening bound for MVD, can one estimate the total time I will spend in the queues :
- immigration (no visa needed)
- customs
then :
- check-in (Pluna)
- security/immigration
Thanks

We arrived from the US a few weeks back, and it was pretty quick, about 10 minutes to go through customs. Leaving last week, the security line was horrendous. Took 45-55 minutes total. Once through the WTMD, the passport line was only 5 minutes.

The problems in GRU on departure reported in the last week have all been about security lines, i.e. lack af staff to man the x-ray machines. This is not a problem that will go away easily and especially not during January and early February, which are peak travel time in Brazil. So arrive early and get through security as soon as possible after check-in.

If I recall there was one crew line, and 4-5 normal lanes. All appeared to be working when I was there. Everyone and their brother was headed to the US, Europe and Japan for Christmas.

Looks like you were there on a "good" day.... The scenario you describe seems to be the max number of lines per terminal (there are 2) available and then obviously again multiplied by 2 per terminal for domestic and international.
