Flight recommendations to Brazil
I am so impressed with Delta’s new A330-neo flying from JFK to GRU that I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread for rating flights to Brazil, the good and the bad airlines and their aircraft.
JFK-GRU - Delta’s A330-neo (new engine option) is much quieter than the noisy 767s. The business cabin and the premium select cabins were super nice, I had an excellent flight experience.
JFK-GIG - avoid Avianca economy. My poor daughter and in-laws endured this horrible flight last year, the cramped seats don’t recline and Avianca even charges for water.

I agree with your comment about the 767's being noisy. While I mostly fly United in business (Polaris), even though my final destination is in the Washington D.C area, I avoid the 764 from GRU to IAD, and also because there are no lavatories up front. Connecting thru IAH or ORD on a Dreamliner is better and provides additional miles towards my next million mile milestone. :-) I also try to avoid EWR as it is often a mess. However, I do occasionally use Azul thru FLL (next flight in Aug-not sure if it will be the A330 200 series or 900 series, they have been using both), and the experience there has been good and often less costly. Have even used Copa and was lucky to have their newer 737 Max9s with the lay flat seats on CNF-PTY-IAD. Was Ok, but service and food didn't seem as good and their lounge in PTY, while huge, has little in the way of food offerings. I upgraded some friends on one of their Copa legs to Uruguay and they thought it was wonderful, since they normally are in Economy!
