Post GRU in transit - louge question

Similar to my other thread on GIG, my return leg from Bahia will be through Sao Paulo... I arrive at GRU at 9pm and we will have the two kids, so the little ones will probably be sleeping. Flight into GRU is TAM... and we continue on TAM for GRU-EZE.... does anybody know if I will have to change terminals...?

How about the lounge situation.... is it safe to assume that I will have a lounge option available from 900 to 1030PM somewhere near my departure gate (international terminal that TAM operates out of).

Thanks very much,
Gaucho100K

I would think you'd have to go through some sort of Brasil exit formalities at some point @ GRU.

- It is possible that you will need to change terminals, as I think TAM operates flights from both.
- As Eastbay1K said, you will need to pass through Policia Federal's border control.
- After that, there is a corridor connecting the two terminals (airside). All lounges are situated in this corridor
- GRU is not a very large airport, but depending on the specific gates used, there could be some moderate walking involved. With only 1:30h between flights, two kids, border control (highly variable in time taken), expect a short lounge stay.

Good point.... I had forgotten that for a minute. This probably means that I will land in one area, have to exit the sterile area and re-enter the international departures area after clearing Immigrasi......

Thanks... I will see if I can get some TAM person at Rio to give me some insight.... then again, maybe I shouldn't expect them to know what is going on at GRU, or....?

I guess we will play this using the old hit/miss and see what happens....

Infraero now provides WiFi access, but I believe it is only after you clear security and enter the departure gate area. At least that seems to be the way it works at GIG, so I assume GRU would be the same. The connection will be through TIM, Linktel, or Net. I have found Tim works best for me. Have to register and provide flight info.
