Delta and Gol enhanced agreement

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/delta-...140000117.html

The two airlines have had an agreement for a while. Gol also has a code share agreement with American Airlines. On a recent FOR-BSB r.t. flight, I gained AA miles going and DL miles coming back. I don't understand if Gol and Delta will now have an "exclusive" agreement which will leave out AA (leaving AA without a domesitc airline partner; UA has TAM). Maybe that wouldn't happen until (if) Gol joins an alliance. Delta has flights from GRU, GIG and BSB to the States. In the past it had flights from REC, FOR and MAO, but no more.
