GRU Transfer Time

Greetings all,

Had a question about transfer time in Sao Paulo. Arrive at 1830 at GRU Terminal 2, and depart at 2230 from Terminal 1. Am assuming that they won't check bags through from SCL to BSB and will need to clear immigration, collect bags and recheck in GRU? So will this be enough time to clear immigration (have UK passport, so shouldn't be visa issues), get bags, switch terminals (Are they close? Never been to Brazil at all before), check in and get through security?

Appreciate any advice!

Read through this thread and it should relieve your concerns:

4 hours should be fine.

Yes, have to collect bags and recheck. Normally the time is sufficient, if the incoming flight is delayed a lot, make sure to explain to one of the attendants, so you can pass through the priority passport control.
Terminals are very close, actually the same building, 5 min walking distance.

Sorry folks, made a typo in the original post. The connection is at 2030, not 2230 (arrive BSB at ~2230). So only 2 hours, not 4.

Both the SCL-GRU and GRU-BSB flights are LAN ticketed, though I think the domestic flight might be a JJ codeshare (?). Assuming no flight delays from SCL, should 2 hours still be sufficient to make the connection?

2 hours is quite tight, but doable. Make sure to use the fast track.
