members who joined BMI DC before the system upgrade had their numbers simply transcribed to the new format with the last 7 digits unchanged.
i would suggest simply using 1then the last 7 digits of your number.
The onQ and hilton reservation system does convert the number as i found out at a hotel recently.
Note that this does not immunise you from trouble getting bmi points on hilton reservations.

I sent you PM with my DC number and all details - a quick answer would be very appreciated as I'm currently missing the possibility to use my 11-digit DC number anywhere. I can't use it with Hilton ( impossible add it to my account ), can't use it with United - the number is not recognized... Have not tried with LH, LX and US - will try in next days but afraid that the result will be the same.
Thanks a lot for your help.

I thought I should share my recent HHonors/DC experiences.
Last month I had a reservation at a Homewood Suites; at booking I set my mile-earning preference to Southwest Airlines. At check-in I was able to give my 11-digit DC# to the clerk; I received DC credit for this stay on the most recent HH sweep to DC (5 July).
I am certain that in the past I have successfully used my full DC# when booking Hilton family reservations online. However, for the last couple of months I have been unable to use my 11-digit DC# when making a reservation at Hilton websites. Finally I got tired of this and called the Hilton Diamond Desk yesterday. After being able to replicate the error, the rep I spoke to put me on hold to check with their "airline liaison". Eventually he came back & said that 8-digit numbers appeared to work. For now he created a # for me by dropping the first three zeroes from my DC#, but he also put in a query to try to figure out what the DC# problem is.
I will post back if I hear more.

My new # is rejected all the time when using hilton web-pages. I remove the first 3 digits and it is accepted. Points/miles has always appeared on my DC account; however it can take around 3-4 weeks. Usually you will get the points for your stays in the first days of the following month.
