Yes - too tempting and I made a rash decision to fly with only 4 hours to shower, shave, get to LHR, buy the ticket, check in and fly last Sunday at 2205. I'm so glad that I did as I'm with my folks now in Napier ... but jet lagged!!!

Many thanks to you all for your helpful suggestions.

Don't forget the upgrade promotion, guys!

http://www.singaporeair.com/saa/en_U...s/upgrades.jsp

(You can accumulate BD miles and still build up miles towards the free upgrade. It's the same process as double-dipping for PPS, i.e.:

1. Register for Krisflyer
2. Register your BD membership number on your Krisflyer profile
3. Give only your BD number at reservation/check-in
4. System will pick up all credits to your "upgrade tracker" automatically based on your BD number)

Worth noting that you can only earn these points until the end of June 2009.
SQ have unforunatly made the minimum accrual amount 25,000 miles which is just more than you earn on LHR-SIN-AKL-SIN-LHR in W.

Cheers for that idea. Sadly I doubt I'll be using the return leg anytime soon ...
