Is it time for a new program?

Hi guys,

With whats going on, Im just thinking its time to move to a new program all together..but I just dont know what yet.

Ive been *A gold for over 4 years now (2 with BMI) and have loved the First and Business class award travel with BMI...really going to miss it. I just cant see any other airline that will give such good rewards using miles and cash.

My Mum has about 40k and Ive got about 20k (after my Vegas trip this year)...guess I better start booking something fast and burn my miles....

Its all a bit sad really...

I would say your problems are really small compared to some here who have to burn 500K+ before Dooms-Day

I'm not one of those, having about 90K in the account left. I guess I book myself 2 F tickets and then I'm but will stay with bmi as long as possible as I have still double miles until the end of FEB 09.

More then enough time to boost some extra miles in !

I got the message about the need to burn about a year ago. So I have flown 137500 miles of redemptions flights in the past year. I have 150000 miles worth of flights booked but not yet flown. I have 125000 miles in my account waiting to be spent. My problem (and I know others would love to have my problem) is that I have run out of the money needed to make best use of the miles. By the end of it, I will have spent a year or two jetting around from youth hostel to youth hostel in F, hoping the supper of caviar and lobster fills me up after lunching in hawker markets.

And then, in a year's time, no more premium cabin travel. Ever.

Damn - these miles were supposed to be spent sparingly over many, many years.
