Or even the 72 miles between DXB-AUH (and that's on a 747!)

Well if your booking for a couple of people the saving soon adds up... Plus its a very simple journey from Belfast to Dublin airport now with the new motorway links.

Have to say that for a long duration redemption, the high car park fees puts me off DUB. The Aircoach can be good, but a previous bad delay meaning a missed flight puts me off it as an option.

Or even between Westray and Papa Westray in the Orkney Islands.

That's 1 mile.

QR MAN-DOH-SEZ-DOH-MAN. Long sectors in business, short in economy.

Any suggestions how to spend 13 hours in Doha?

If you are in business class, I have read that the new business class terminal is very nice!

Lucky you! Sounds like you did extremely well to get anything four times over during peak transatlantic travel period. Moreover LHR-ZRH-YUL technically exceeds MPM, and other *A airlines like UA won't ticket it (I tried last year... and ended up doing MUC-YUL and paying for a cheapie LHR-MUC on Lufty)

As for AC, c'mon! It's peak season, and AC are always stingy on Transatlantic award space, esp in premium classes. You can normally find excellent Y class availability, especially on the flights via Halifax or St John. OK, so you'd need to overnight in Newfoundland, but I bet Pricelining a hotel there will save you some squids over anything at Heathrow!

Yes, but it's just a lounge, really. Boring after a couple of hours.

Cash & Miles Redemption (Zone 9 award) from LHR through to MEL in November.

LHR-FRA-SIN-MEL return in F

FRA-SIN sectors on LH (First class) and SIN-MEL sectors on SQ (First class). LHR-FRA sectors obviously only in J on LH.

Managed to get sectors which all nicely fit together. Unfortunately zero availability on any SQ 77W services which was of no surprise.

Only in Australia for 2 days (wedding to attend) so miles seemed the best course of action for such a short trip.

Total price = 1071.30 GBP + 100K miles

Made a dummy booking on expedia and found a fare in F on LH/SQ for 5200 GBP all up so this effectively values my 100K miles at approximately 4500 GBP assuming the taxes are around 700 for a trip of this nature.
