Lightbulb SQ availability

Hey guys,

assuming you are a gold member and want to book an award flight on SQ. Accourding to gold member rules you have to book such a flight at least 3 days befor departure. But quite often SQ unlock award seats 24-48 hours before departure. So how ahould somebody ever book an award seat (C- and F-class) especially on routs like FRA-SIN or LHR-SIN? Assuming you are a blue member then you can forget an award seat with SQ, even if you have enough miles.
When do you book such seats?

regards

SQ dont only release seats 24-48 hours before departure, they release seats well in advance like all airlines. However they usually release extra availability a day or 2 before departure if the cabin isnt full.

well,

when I check availability ie in 4 weeks FRA-SIN, there are no C- and F-seats available. But if I look at the next few days, there are F- and C- class seats available. And I have tried the whole last week to search availability - but always the same, 2-3 days before departure there are premium seats available.

Thats just the way award availability varies. Its not just an SQ issue. Unfortunately you usually have to be pretty flexible with dates in order to get the route/class/carrier you want.

I find that SQ and LH for that matter usually open up unsold C/F seats about a week before departure

If you tell me the date/route/class your looking for, i can tell you what availability is like on that date, and therefore you can work out whether it is likely they will release seats for rewards

If you have a C seat on a flight and SQ releases a F seat 48 hours before on this flight, is it possible to change your award ticket from C to F ?
