HHonors fixed or variable miles?

Tahnks to FlyerTalk, I now have a brand new DC account with 9000 miles to spend!

I've done some FT searches regarding my questions, but many of the threads are dated before the introduction of the present double dipping scheme at HHonors, so please allow me to ask for updated information.

From http://www.flybmi.com/bmi/src/html/d...earnmiles.html it looks like I can quickly increase my bmi miles by future stays at cheap Hampton Inns (1000 miles per night up to 3000 miles). This seems too good to be true, have I missed something?!?

If the above really holds: Since the HHonors page http://hhonors1.hilton.com/en_US/hh/...ubledipping.do doesn't include bmi in the list of participating airlines for points+variable miles, should I pick points+fixed miles with bmi dc as my earning preference (despite the statement "100 miles at Hampton")?

Hmm.. I was thinking about this too. It looks as if you'd in fact get 1000 miles .

GoldCircle, have you received 1000 miles after a stay at a Hampton Inn yourself?

Also, per night, if I understand correctly.

As far as I know, up to 3000 points per stay (1000 for first three consecutive nights).

I can confirm from past experience that you do get 1K miles for any one-night stay at a Hilton family hotel, including a Hampton inn.

Great! I've got a total of 10 nights (4 different hotels) booked at Hampton Inns

Yes - but just remember it's 1000 miles per night up to 3 nights on any individual stay and checking out and back in does not work. I had a 10 night stay in the autum, and only got 3000 miles for the stay. In this kind of case, it might be worth considering just going for the double points and no miles.

However, I guess most people do 1 or 2 nights only on the vast majority of stays - and so the fixed "moints and piles" is the best option on bmi.

I can also confirm you earn 1000 destination miles per night (up to 3000 per stay) at Hampton Inns with the fixed miles option. Came in useful last year with those Mon-Thu stays for work ^

Status miles??? Or reward miles? I would think the latter, not the former.
