LHR-VIE-TIP in C on OS booked 5 weeks out (burn value per mile 8p)
LHR-NRT-LHR 2 PAX in F on NH booked 3 weeks out (burn Value per mile 12p)
LHR-LAX-LHR in C on NZ booked 6 weeks out for the Freddies (burn Value per mile 9p)

Once again great service fom UK based DC staff, able to put flights on hold for 48hrs to allow time to sort hotels, and arrange meetings.

Having a chat with BMI crew on a recent flight from DUB about DC and BMI in general, they were saying that the moves to India are being monitored and that if DC members do not get a good service from the Call Centres once they move and they start to receive significant genuine complaints from members they will reconsider the move.

Same with me - no BD availability over Easter so LH out in C and back in F for 37,500 miles and £480 cash inc tax. Great service from DC Sheffield call centre on Sunday morning.

After discovering that redemption tickets are not changable after departure, booked a new one way FRA-DUB last Thursday for travel today Monday. No problems when talking to the UK call center. Some small difficulties with India.

My award (above) was booked by the indian call centre. they were fine but it did take an age; everything was repeated back to me at least twice and there were alot of long silences.

LHR - FRA - BOM in F on LH for 2 pax

Miles + Cash (100,000 miles + £680 + £365 taxes = ouch!)

Booked March 06

Travel December 06

First time with Indian call centre. I had checked everything out using the ANA tool (big, big thanks to whoever first discovered that). Told the CSR what I wanted and she was very professional and thorough. Taxes wouldn't load on her machine, so she said she would call back within the hour to take the cash element off my card. Thirty minutes later, she called: all done.

Booked it as two seperate PNRs for ease of cancelling should one of us not be able to go. No problems.

Both trips showed in checkmytrip.com within 4 hours of the call.

Really can't complain, certainly when I remember this little farago:

Hello guys

**
GLA->SEA Early may - no chance with united or a good airline but finally booked with air canada via toronto
NARITA->Hong Hong - Late may- Availabilty when i moved my times but with a bonkers routing via Bangkok.
**

Similar OK experiences with the Indian call center. They're slow but they seem to have got a lot better than previous experiences.

Last sunday got through to someone from the UK call center - they parroted out no availability and didn't seem to want to give me a non-standard routing (which sadly seems to be required even just to get to the states in May!). Got the Indian call center today and the agent tried all the different routes and got me the flights i was looking for. Well it was Air Canada, so hardly completetly my choice, but nothing else seemed to be available and it checked out with the ANA tool. Agent seemed to be original with the routing, and even suggested Edinburgh rather than Glasgow.

Only problem I had was with Tokyo->Hong Kong on a seperate booking. The ANA tool, and their system, showed availability - but the agent said it cancelled the flights when he finallised the booking. A call to the airline confirmed no availability.

So UK call center - 2/10, Indian call center - 8/10. Star alliance reward availability 3/10.... What's the point in having all these miles if we can't even book flights to the US two months out?!

Wanted London to Moscow, booking 2.5 weeks out for 1 seat in C using miles only. Found plenty of availability on SK,OS and LH.

Finally went for LH

LHR-MUC-SVO
SVO-FRA-LHR

Would have preferred an LX connection though Zurich to DME, but couldn't risk it. I'll take a look at availability tomorrow anyway.

Hate to say it, but the lady in the Indian call centre this afternoon was great. I'd already checked availability on the ANA site, so knew the flights were available. All sorted and booked in 10 mins!

LHR-SIN-CHC-DUD-CHC-SIN-LHR (LHR-CHC on SQ/CHC-DUD on NZ) - In Business. Top marks...
