Earning Miles with * Partner Codeshare

Hey all,

Have tried to find the answer on bmi but the website doesn't answer my specific question.

What if I book a flight operated by Swiss with a LH flight number on the ticket. Would any miles be earnt?

Also am I right in assuming that Virgin Atlantic flights only earn destination miles and not status miles?

Cheers ^

You will not earn miles on LX even if it is a LH codeshare. However at some point next year, Swiss will join *A and then you will be able to earn membership and status miles. I'm dying for Swiss to join as it seems every decent flight I am looking at at the moment wherever I seem to be headed is with them. I'll probably have no use for them once they join.

If and when LX join maybe they can tell BMI waht a disaster they had trying to migrate a FS airline to a LCC. They reversed out of it and have began to improve. Although the ultimate price for this was to become part of LH.

Reading up on LH mailings, LX will be a *A partner on 1st April 2006. Given the speed the integration seems to be moving at, this seems realistic. After all, with the reputation of both for timekeeping, how could they fail
