Devaluing DC Gold
I , like many other DC Gold acct holders, are concerned at the potential devaluation of DC Gold benefits and in particular, Gold Upgrade Vouchers, following the recent "strategy" announcements. I would therefore like to suggest that we formally lobby DC to consider allowing these to be used for pre-assigned upgrades from Premium Economy to The Business on all longhaul sectors. This would potentailly achieve;
1. DC Gold members would continue to feel valued by means of this benefit, and;
2. The potential for increased Premium Economy fare sales that would have otherwise remained unsold.
Why don't we all e-mail them accordingly? If you don't ask.....

One other thing that they could do which would go a long way towards cheering me up about these changes is to increase the monthly gold bonus from 25% to 50%. I have given up the 100% bonus that United would give me as a 1P, and credited all my star alliance flights to DC on the basis that the benefits outweighed the costs, only to see the most obvious benefits become more or less useless; an increase in the mileage bonus might sweeten the pill for many gold members.

As far as I know, it's on all *A miles. I am certainly hoping so. With UA, LH flights also count (in theory, just transatlantic ones, but there seems to be little consistency about it). But compare Continental, for example, where the Gold bonus is 100% on ALL Skyteam carriers, which certainly makes more sense, if an alliance is to be worth anything.
