I have some questions about the referal program

1) Can you refer as many people as you wish or is it any maximum?

2) If I am AC *G must I refer people to AC or can I refer people to any * program?

3) Must the new member also be based in the UK?

Got my pack today and can confirm that as a BD *G I received 4 upgrade vouchers.

Everything else is as the Silvers, except no lounge vouchers as you have that as Gold Perk in any case

Yes.

<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">2) If I am AC *G must I refer people to AC or can I refer people to any * program?</font>
Only to the program which you are currently a member of. The person you refer must have equivalent of *G or *S status in their non-*A program.

<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">3) Must the new member also be based in the UK?</font>
Yes

There will be booking class restrictions as to the qualifying flights that earn you the referral bonus. The person you refer must fly on. J/C/Y/M/B on AC; F/C/D/Y/M/B on all other *A airlines, U/L as well for BD and S as well for SK.

From the terms and conditions:

" Customers will not obtain Platinum level status."

Does this mean that *A are going to roll out a new top level? I have heard rumblings about it and this makes me think!

If you are thinking of which *A program to join this looks like a good tool. I am not sure how up to date it is.

A few questions:

Must the qualifying flight for the 5,000 bonus miles originate in the UK?

Would a BA Silver be comped to LH FTL or SEN (I suspect the former)?

Could mean that, or could merely mean that if you apply from a non-*A programme with 4 tiers (eg: NW, KL) to a *A programme with 4 tiers (eg: UA, OZ), the max you can get is Gold (tier 3)

As to YYZC2, yes. The *A alchemists refuse to transform silver into gold.

I was very pleasantly surprised to receive my 4 upgrade vouchers at the w/end. Then on 2nd thoughts when do I by full fare long haul? not often if I'm paying. How rigidly will the fare classes rules be applied, any experiences in the past?

It was interesting to read about the 'platinum' level. Although we are a small program it does make sense for *A to roll this out given the presence of some of the larger carriers, (e.g. LH/UA etc...). However this certainly begs the next logical question, i.e. what further benefits can the *A afford to these members? I am fully familiar with the MP program, and the need for a further level is evidenced by the existance of 1K premier executive and the United Global Services members. However the next questions would have to be, what would the qualification criteria be? and how will this impact the remaining tiers? Would our existing privaleges be reined in? (Heaven forbid!).

On another tack I note that Empress graced us with her presence, and I would like to thank her for bringing this matter to our attention . I would also like to thank Tall Bloke for the invaluable info he placed on the board.

And finally...I still haven't recieved my upgrades

Safe travels

Has anyone else tried to use the status match yet?

I tried to get my blue dc matched to my QF silver, but the email address they say to send the statement to returned as undelivered.

I am just wondering if anyone else has had similar probs.

I had it bounce back too. Just forwarded it to webmaster address given for it to be forwarded. Perhaps it's because of "My Doom" virus, but I've had a lot of bouncebacks recently.

Turning to the benefits, specifically the upgrades, what do people think are the chances of actually securing worthwhile, longhauls on other *A carriers? They are subload vouchers and, on top of that, one will be behind all the carrier's own elites, vouchers and op-up's.

I am LH SEN, but plain BD DC with no status. Under the STAR comp can I apply for BD Gold using my KLM PE status?

If so, are there any advantages?

No. According to the terms of the promotion, you cannot do it, at least not legally.

I wouldn't worry : me neither and I'm also BD *G

Although interestingly I have had a pack for my LH FTL *S status ( vouchers x 2 rather than X 4 )

So I guess that means I get x 6 ( or there will be trouble )
