Idiot codeshare earning question to which I should know the answer...
If I fly on a Lufty flight # (specifically in the 28XX range) on a flight operated by some outfit called Air One (no, I'd never heard of them either) will I earn bmi miles?

Going to Italy, eh?
Officially no DC miles on Air One metal, even with LH codes. I did hear somewhere that if the particular flight number series was between X and Y, the miles sometimes credit to bmi. Needless to say I can't remember the numbers... sorry.
If you have an LH M&M card - that would be the safest option. Better still, why not ring DC and ask about the number of miles available on the given flight numbers, omitting to mention it is operated by some strange outfit you've never heard of?

Does seem to depend on the Flight number and whether they are operating the flight on behalf of LH.

I have a similar one now...
United Express, UA's feeder service, offers CRJs operated on their behalf by Skywest airlines. I believe this means Skywest doesn't sell their own code on these flights.
Flight number range UA64XX from SFO-RNO (quick skiing expedition
). Any guess whether bmi miles will accrue?

All United Express flights should attract full miles as if they were a UA flight. There is no alternative flight number in these cases.
Certainly works that way for UA's own programme, and with LH Miles and More.

Can confirm that all UA numbers operated as United Express (SkyWest, Atlantic Coast, etc) work fine with Diamond Club. And with a minimum of 800 miles on non-BD sectors, those 30 minute feeder hops to IAD or LAX for long-haul connections can prove pretty good value for money, too
ACA is breaking free from its agreement with UA, but details - dates, etc - are yet to be finalised, I believe. Presumably UA mainline or US shuttle services will fill the service gaps on the east coast.

Couldn't agree more... the UA / Skywest CRJ ops from SFO-RNO was really quite fun! And, even if small, they are quite fast and you really get the sense of old-fashioned-flying in an aircraft, rather than just hanging around in the belly of a beast.
All in all SEA-SFO-RNO and back cost a mere $88, when US taxes were deducted in time-honoured fashion, yielding 3200 glory miles and 4000 spending miles.
Happily, as a result my membership status miles just will hit 38,002 "when the data process has run overnight"!
That was a very close call...

Great news. That's my *G sorted out for the coming year!
