ADVENT offers only To Manchester

Today's offer.

Book by midnight tonight - for travel between 1 January and 29 February 2004 - and enjoy the luxury of bmi business class to Manchester for just £99 return including taxes and charges.

Heathrow, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen to Manchester - all £99 return, including taxes! Use the booking facility on the right and make sure you select the cabin type as business restricted to find this exceptional fare!

Grea offer shame that I can only use this from Heathrow and not travelling to Heathrow.

However if I book a return from Heathrow it will pay me to throw away the return portion.

Day 6 gone 6 days left still time for the marketing department to sort it out.

As a London-based Mancunian this has made my day - just booked 2 trips LHR-MAN over the next 2 months for GBP98.40 each including taxes. 10% of the way to requalifying as SEN and I haven't even booked any business travel yet!

I agree that there should be some offers from MAN (how about GBP99 return in Business on all direct flights FROM MAN?) - it is BD's second hub after all, and would be a nice goodwill gesture to the significant number of loyal customers based in the North West.

And sweet FA from EDI yet except for LHR (to which it is pretty easy to bag N, T or W fares anyway if you look hard enough). How about EDI-CPH, EDI-SYY or EDI-BRU?

Mind you, I'm not sure a trip to the Outer Hebrides in February really counts as a Christmas gift.

I'd have booked EDI-MAN-TLS for a couple of rugby weekends if they had offered the EDI-MAN discounts on the same day as the MAN-TLS.

This promotion has reminded me of a moan I had a while back about the lack of decent Business class promotions on BD. BA has been periodically offering discounted business returns to Europe (LIN and MAD for instance) for GBP180 or so. At these rates I'd be buying them up, rather than buying economy tickets in W class for GBP100-120 or so for weekends away. Surely even the discounted C class ticets are more profitable than discounted Y (the additional cost is limited to the meal AFAIK, and C class is rarely full at weekends).

The offers are very southern centric so far. Everything from LHR, only one offer from MAN (and to Toulouse which doesn't even have daily flights).
How difficult would it have been to reverse yesterdays LHR-MAN offer?

TJ (who is not holding his breath waiting for any offers from MAN or LBA)

Another great one for our southern friends.

Heathrow TO Dublin. Apologies to those in Ireland but it's not for you. Why not add a UK add on fare to the Tenerife offer or other destinations.

I don't see why you're all complaining - bmi is a hub and spoke operation after all. And where else could the provincials want to go to other than London?

Listen, cupcake, we may be dazzled by the bright lights of cosmopolitan London but at least here in the regions we can get a civilised drink after 11pm without venturing into a tacky casino

I've taken you to places far nicer than that casino, honeybun, but you were so "dazzled" by the cosmopolitans that you couldn't remember in the morning...

Provincials, eh? I think you're about 4 score and a few years out of touch with DUB.

As to the bargain £25 to DUB from LHR. (Giggles furiously) - you realise they charge us ex-provincials only €28 e/w for the same privilege in reverse? That's about a third less.

There's a long tradition of airlines offering discounts to countries with failing economies. See Baht run.

Today was the last day of the advent offers and finished with Italy from Heathrow.

The only offers from Manchester were to Toulouse and yesterday to Chicago and Washington though at fares that are generally available anyway (W) class.

Missing was anything from the regions to Heathrow or from Manchester to any of the Scottish destinations and a reduced add on fare from the regions to match up with the Heathrow offers.

A lost opportunity really but then again Bmi baby are offering Manchester - Barcelona for £20 today.
