A couple of grumbles...

Does it really take the common sense of someone who is not an egregious idiot to serve different hot meals on outbound and return flights on the same day?!?! I really couldn't face my second portion of garlic chicken within eight hours... the whole bloody thing was identical, from the toffee crisp to the grapes. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

Also, while I've nothing against the occasional Y pax coming forward to use the loo when the trolleys are in the aisle, they shouldn't be doing so in such numbers as to form a queue - particularly when food & drink service is finished. (Mind you, on the return leg the forward bog was out of order...)

On the plus side, every member of BD staff I encountered throughout the day, both on board and in the lounge, was fabulous. Special praise must go to the delightful young lady on the desk at the Edinburgh lounge. So much better than that slightly scary one that only Alastair seems to have befriended...

Maybe the rear bogs were knackered as well....or maybe they just wanted to breathe in the garlic infused air in the C cabin.

Is she the lady with hair so blond it's almost white?

The nice young lady had blonde hair, but I would have said it had highlights giving a hint of an impression of a young tigeress. The scary lady does have very very very blonde hair which I suppose you could call almost white. I don't think it's natural...

The BD lounge at EDI is peroxide city (and that's before you get to the white wine) but the lady to whom you refer is called Frances. And she's lovely really. As indeed are all the others. But I'm bound to say that as I was out drinking with one or two of them in the Pleasance Courtyard last night. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/redface.gif

Much more importantly, wingnut, I thought you had decided to shun the festival this year. So to what did we owe the unexpected pleasure? The Assembly Rooms club bar is empty without you. Well, almost...

Wingnut Aug 14, 2003 9:37 am

I am shunning, but I had to come up for a meeting so did it on a very quick turnaround and came straight home! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Went nowhere near the Assembly Rooms or the Courtyard (although I did have time for a visit to Bar Napoli - the Ivy of the North...)

I'm sure Frances is very lovely, but she's quite strict. I think you need to introduce me to her properly, then I'm sure we'll get along famously!

PS: Do you know my young tigress as well? I think I might be developing a bit of a crush...

Bar Napoli? How very shabby-chic http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif Last time I was in there I found a former Scottish rugby international passed out in the toilets. Mind you, it was well past his bedtime.

She is very strict and we did have a bit of a run-in once but it's all forgotten now. God help you if you bring food into the smoking area though http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif That requires a leap of the imagination. Were you pissed? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif Not sure which one you mean, but I'll pass on your compliments to all (well, nearly all...) in any case. Shame you're not here because we're ever so short of scurrilous nonsense to print in our festival diary...

This is starting to resemble the BA forum http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/eek.gif - the only thing missing is a hairbrush http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

What?! We Southerners singlehandedly support the Scottish economy with our taxes and our cr*ppy comedians!

Having said that, I felt it was a little quieter on the Fringe this year... I think all that riff-raff on Princes Street mostly consists of locals...

Now, you should've said you wanted scurrilous gossip! Alas, there's not much I can tell you that wouldn't be libellous (except for Ronnie Corbett forgetting to pay for drinks, but I think you've already printed that)... Was staying at the Glasshouse this time - very chic, but, boy, could I tell you some of the things that were going on in there... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Well Sean and I are hot on the AJ gossip trail in Tallinn, and will be in Edinburgh this coming weekend to tell all!

Not flying BMI though, but you all know how had deli bags are anyway..

And aren't they interested in the most bizarre things?

A party of Japanese tourists asked me to take their picture today with them stood infront of an Edinburgh building.

Did they want the glorious castle in the background? No.

Did they want the Scott (as opposed to ScottC) Monument?

Holyrood? No.

Answer: Marks and bloody Spencer!!!!!!!!!
