Redemption Zone Query
Please help if you can - I would rather find out here than ring call centre and make fool of myself!
I know that ZRH to HKG would be zone 1 to 8 on the chart which would be 70000 return in Y and I also know that BCN to HKG would be zone 2 to 8 on the chart which would be 50000 return in Y.
My query is that I think using the ANA tool I have found o/w availability from BCN to HKG using LX in C to ZRH and then F onto HKG. I would really like to book this but wonder if as it goes through ZRH which is band 1 whether the total would still qualify as band 2 which is where the start is???!!! I only have enough miles if it is classed as band 2 not 1!
Please advise

It will be classed as zone 2 to 8, you've found one of BD's good value redemptions (i.e. going to HKG from Zone 2 is markedly cheaper than Zone 1) - the fact you transfer in Zone 1 isn't counted in this case either - it is the start & end point of redemptions that matter.
I'd recommend you read the forum sticky to look at things like "why cash and miles is good value", and "why you should never redeeem for Economy on BD" (almost all of the time)

Thanks all. Rang up and booked - TAP LIS-ZRH in C then LX ZRH-HKG in F all for a shade over 300 and 31250 miles - seems like a bargain to me! Anyone know what LX F will be like?
Kind regards
