Is it possible?

I have booked an economy class ticket from Taipei to Copenhagen with bmi miles. I would like to upgrade it to business, will it only cost me +0.5 more miles? or do they have to cancel the reservation and then make a new one?

I am guessing they will cancel as you are looking to book in a different class - do you know if there are available redemption seats in business?

Yes, they will cancel for 25 pounds. Then if you don't have enough miles, you have to wait for the miles to appear back in your account and hope the available seat is there at that time

If it's a straight change (upwards) to the class of service being flown then it's a CHANGE, not a cancellation, so 20 per person and no refund of miles necessary. They'll just deduct the extra miles from your account.

The only time you will have to cancel is if you DOWNGRADE the class of service say from F to J. For some reason this is just beyond the ICC.
