Keeping my rdms

What is the cheapest way for an American to keep my rdms active? As far as I can tell in the USA there are many fewer options

I had the same problem last year being UK based and needing to save some UA miles from expiring. The best way for me was to make a charitable donation, better to give 1000 miles to a good cause than to lose them all. This is possible with DC, look under 'spend miles online' on the DC website.
