Is there a thread like this with the Alamo discount codes? I'll look at a backup rental with them.

Hey since they don't require credit card (Avis and I assume Alamo) then why even bother with going online and canceling the one that you don't use? When you don't show up won't they cancel it by default?

There is an Alamo discount thread, I don't think it's as active as this one.

They will just cancel the reservation if you don't show. I just believe in the power of good karma (or in this case, carma) :)

Avis $196.94 ($266 after tax) for a Standard

$182.50 with AWD G930700 (IBM) and coupon code MUWA006 ($25 off 5+ day rental)

I think this is for IBM employees, you might get asked for ID.

Thanks but isn't that too risky? What if I get asked for ID?

Since you're an Avis Preferred member, my advice is don't risk it just to save $14.

Other than that, I couldn't find a better price than yours. That is looking like a good deal for those dates.

For Sears customers (nothing about ID in the T&C):

Up to 30% off - AWD number D302003
$30 off 5+ day rental - AWD number D302003 and coupon code MUWA029
Free weekend day - AWD number D302003 and coupon code TUEA004
Free upgrade - AWD number D302003 and coupon code UUFA018

More Avis AWD numbers and coupon codes

book early and book often.

make your reservation(s) now but don't just make 'em and forget 'em. keep checking every couple weeks and more often as the reservations get closer. Rates, like airline tickets, fluctuate all the time. They tend to drop as you get closer in, but that's not always the case.

I can't remember the name of the website but I read about it on this Flyertalk site, you go to that website and key in all the info on the rental you made (location, dates, price, confirm #, etc). Then that site will continue to check for you on your rental and the current price. If the current price is less than what you reserved it for, the website will cancel/rebook your reservation at the lower price.

So there's nothing you need to do. it's all automated.

Now if someone could please post the name of that website. :-)

It's called AUTOSLASH.

Avis USAA rental

Rental details: Avis using USAA code (to waive underage fee)
Dates: 01/02/2015-01/07/2015
Location: Los Angeles, CA (most likely Westwood/Beverly Hills)

Somehow the USAA code for Avis grants LDW and ALI only for rentals up to 4 days (and two hours), but I'd like to rent for 5 days. It does still remove the underage fee (I'm 22).
I guess it changes to a weekly rental - is there a way to include LDW/ALI for free for a 5 day rental - e.g. by booking for 4 and changing it to 5?

Feel free to try this to see if it saves you anything. My corp code and no ID required. AWD: -------

Moderator's Note: Per the wiki, all AWDs posted must list the company. Please list the company to re-post the discount code.

Did anyone get a flyer last week discussing the break in relationship with United Airlines, but overing a upgrade coupon#? I lost mine and wanted to try it for this week.
