first time in PHL....

I have heard plenty horror stories here about PHL and being pathetic on upgrades, cleanliness, and waits, but being the first time I want to know what to expect.

I am coming in 5pm on Friday and leaving at 9am on Sunday....is PHL done by shuttle bus, what is approx wait times for pickup from airport, and back to the airport if so?

Upgrades, I rented a full and basically expecting nothing. Not an issue I guess.

For PHL, they have the dreaded Avis bus. Typical wait times are anywhere from 5-25 minutes to get to the Avis lot. At that time on a Friday, I'd expect a longer wait. At 9AM on Sunday, you shouldn't have much of an issue getting back to the terminal.. maybe 10 minutes from when you pull into the Avis lot; assuming there is someone there to check you in (which can be hard to find in cold/inclimate weather).

I never rented from PHL as a Chairman, but as a Pres Club member, it was like pulling teeth to get upgraded from a full-size. Twice, they finally relented and gave me trashed 300's (one with a headlight out & an ink pool in the cupholder that I pleasantly discovered near BWI with it all over my clothes, etc).
