FYI:

2007 Ford Taurus - right
2007 Chevrolet Malibu - right
If you will look at the fuel/gas gauge on most cars it has an arrow which points to the side of the car where the gas cap is on. I know Taurus and Malibu have it.

My experience:
any car i own = left
any car i rent = right
This is a universal truth for me as well. Every car I've ever owned = left. Every car I've ever rented = right. I still get it wrong at the first gas stop, though, and have to pull around to the other side.

Today my coworker apparently spent 15 minutes looking for the fuel door release before just bringing back the car without refueling. The nice person did not charger her either because i guess he couldn't figure it out either.

Charger, Galant, Saturn Aura, any other cars with weird doors with no thumb thing or release button? I had to use my credit card to wedge open the fuel door of the Aura.

I had a Charger last week and have had an Aura and Galant within the two last months and never had any issue filling it up, or finding the release buttons... Maybe it's just you? No, I mean maybe it's just me?

I can always get them open. It was my coworker who gave up. I wasn't with her. She called and left me a voicemail. by the time i realized she had called, she had already returned it to Avis. the guy didn't charge her for gas so she got lucky.

Do tell where the release buttons are for the charger, galant, and aura. my experience with the galant and aura is that there is no button inside the car, you just open the fuel door.

How many possible ways are there to open a gas cap door?

1. Push on it and a magnet releases.
2. Put finger in hole and pry open.
3. Interior button releases door.

I tried all 3 on a Mitsubishi Something or Other and got nowhere. I too returned the vehicle half full and with an attitude. That got me free gas but I'd not like to repeat the frustration.

To make it even worse, my car (Ford Taurus) on the right, wife's car (Honda Accord) on the left. Whenever I stop for gas in her car, always pull into the wrong side.
