STL issues
My last couple of trips to STL seems like the Avis has some pretty beat cars with high mileage. I am pretty much zero on upgrades at this location. Anyone have any different experiences or thoughts on going to Hertz. It seems like I will be going St. Louis once a month for the next few months.

Over the last 2 years, I fly into STL on average; once a month. Upgrades are 1% at best.
Although, 2 weeks ago I got an upgrade to a Dodge Charger <20 miles on it. Over the 7 days, I was constantly asked "does that have a Hemi"? First couple days I replied "no, it's a rental", they would then frown and go on their way. After realizing they wouldn't really know the difference, I simply smiled, replied "yes", and being careful not to gun the engine; would slowly go on MY way.

Followup: The car they gave me had almost 24,000 miles on it. Old, old, old for a rental car and it sure did feel old. Technically, it was an upgrade from an Intermediate to a full-size, although only in delusional rental-car-land could anyone think a Sonata is a full size car.

I've used National at STL before and their EE selection was half decent: a few months back I drove off with an Impala SS (5.3L V8 DOD) with 12 miles on the odo. Loved every minute of it.

That sucks that happened to you, but are you going to punish the whole system for a veritable bad apple of a station? It's like saying you'll never fly X Airlines again for one bad flight.
Give Avis Corporate a chance to make things better, and keep hyperbole to a minimum.

Plus this rant was opened against a (4) year old thread... Not to say nothing happened in four years, but............

Sorry I posted it in an old thread - I did a search and that was the one that popped up - rather than starting a new thread. Glad you haven't had an issue there - could be isolated - but I doubt it.
