Help with co-terminals
Told on numerous times that return of cars to co-terminals is allowed. Rent in LAX and return to SNA/LGB/BUR etc. So I booked my airlines ticket like that and told another traveling with me that they could do the same. But now I am being told by Avis that the rates are TWICE as much. Over $50 per day on the weekend. What? Co-terminal? I might as well return the car to SFO. They keep saying "one-way" rental. If it really is a co-terminal then it is not a "one-way" rental. Somehow I think I am just being screwed by the Avis computer and reservations is only going by what the computer tells them even though logically they know the rates should not be that high. Any advice?

You may want to try your Avis booking under a different profile. For instance, under the corporate agreement of my employer, all one-way rentals in Calif. are no extra charge. So give it a shot with AAA, or booking through the airline?
Or as the previous poster suggested, try another company. Or perhaps picking up somewhere other than SFO specifically.

No I am picking it up in LAX and drop off in BUR and still Avis wants twice as much. I am probably better off with another company...
