Exclamation WARNING!! Avis web site error

I've noticed on several occassions while using the Avis website the rates were extrmely high even though I entered a very good AWD (D005297). Upon further examination I saw in the "Rates & Discount" section the AWD was missing and the rate code showed N/A and the rate was the same as a reservation made without an AWD number. Upon contacting Avis web support I was told Avis.com was experiencing problems. As I said, I have noticed this on several occassions intermitently for many months now. So just be aware, even with your AWD numbers inserted, make sure you check to see that it appears in the "Rates & Discount" box on the "Car Selection" page. If it doesn't you aren't gettng your discounts.
Rates & Discounts Modify >

Rate Code: N/A
Coupon #: N/A
Child Seats: Infant - N/A
Safety - N/A
Booster - N/A
Avis Assist: N/A
Residence: US

Avis web site problems

After logging into My Avis at avis.com, I noticed the same challenges on a couple of different attempts to use some of my favorite AWD numbers. I experienced them both Monday, June 19th and then again earlier this evening. I was able to check rates using different AWD numbers by logging out at avis.com then going into my Internet browser to clear private data including browsing data, saved form information, cookies, and cache. After making my reservation, I called Avis and asked them to add my Wizard number to the reservation to get it to reflect my Avis Preferred Select status. I then went back to avis.com, logged into "My Avis", and confirmed the reservation was under my Wizard number.

I also reported this problem to Avis reservations. This problem went beyond what I feel is an ongoing, related problem Ive experienced at avis.com that is being able to use an AWD different than the one reflected in my profile. Im not confident that most visitors to avis.com have my patience for either of these challenges. They may assume that theyre seeing the best Avis price but since it isnt as competitive as possible - renting somewhere else.

Avis responds.

I was glad to hear I wasn't the only one having this problem. I have been corresponding with the web department at Avis.com and have been told they are having the same problem. Her advice was closing the window and resubmitting all the information if I want to check the different AWD's. Not very web friendly. How good of a discount is the 25th Anni AWD?

Supposedly 25% off regular rates. But more importantly, each weekend rental is worth 4250 miles to me (250 miles x # years in AAdvantage). And I've booked until the end of the year.

With supplementary discussion here (somewhere in the middle): http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=552940

But basically, AA had a promo as part of their 25th Anniversary for AAdvantage whereby members earned 250 bonus miles x # of membership years for renting with Avis, up to 6250. Earning for each booking, until Dec 31. It required a 3-day rental with a Friday keep.

Oh, but for the miles you had to have made the reservation before May 31.

The AWD for the discount, though, should still be valid.
