Adding FF Numbers at Avis Website

For the life of me, I cannot find a place to add my FF info on Avis's website. There is a place to add the info for "past rentals" but not for future rentals. Or did I somehow overlook it? Thanks.

You can't add your FF number to the reservation if it's made through a TA or website other than Avis and the FF number wasn't added to begin with. After the rental is over, you are supposed to be able to add it through the website. I haven't been able to do this for about a year, so every 4 months I call and have them add the FF number manually.

I made my reservation on the Avis website and didn't add my FF number. In fact, I probably left it blank thinking it would automatically be added to my reservation. But I did see where it can be added AFTER the rental. I guess I'll just give them a call.

If you look in MyAvis and open the rental agreement that's online, there is a place you can "add frequent traveler number." This is after the rental takes place.

I did it once and it worked.

It used to work all the time for me. My corporate travel office almost never submits my ff# with my reservation. It stopped working sometime last year and now only works if the rental took place in a state that doesn't add a tax to the FF miles, usually about $2. I understand my employer not wanting to pay that on my behalf. So, it doesn't work for me in CA or OH, possbily not in TX. I think it worked for UT, AL, GA and FL.

If you credit the miles to a hotel program they don't charge tax. I get better value from 50 SPG points that I do 50 miles on most FF programs.

Good point, although I had no more luck adding my Hilton # after the fact. Also, I believe my corporate travel office to be incapable of retraining now that they stopped adding my number to car reservations. I will see what can be done.

I have tried numerous times to get US Airways miles credited from Avis, but the website hasn't gotten it done....finally have an email into them.
