Discount Code A153700....!
So....
I decided to try Discount Code A153700 on an Avis reservation in YUL.
Cheapest rate that I could find with other codes was about $53.00 for one day.
WITH the code, $27.99 for the day.
OF course.... I went with the code. I received a CONFIRMATION.
When I landed in YUL, I presented my confirmation to the Avis counter.
"Are you an Avis employee?"
"No" I responded (as I am not and saw no point in lying)
"Well this is an employee discount code, so I'll have to see your employee ID"
"But my reservation has been confirmed and nowhere on the confirmation does it state that the rental is supject to me identifying myself as an employee"
"Sorry, those are the rules"
And off I went to an off-airport location of Dollar rent a car for $28.00.

What exactly is your point? Avis has every right to request proper ID to use a particular discount code ... are you just pissed they busted you?

I didn't know that it was an employee code and as such was surprised.
And it was also my feeling that a confirmed reservation as just that, a *confimred* reservation, and not a confirmed subject to.... reservation. Nowhere on my printed copy of the reservation did it make any refrence whatsoever to being an employee discount.
The purpose of my post was as an information resource for others who may want to use this code in the future..

So the question that begs being asked is: How did you "obtain" the code in the first place? Any smart traveller would question the source of the codes being used, especially if it's giving a rate that's "too good to be true."
The code, by the way, has been mentioned in past threads:

Thanks for the shariing your first-hand experience, though.
