same experience at Toulouse airport

In my case, Europcar car return inspection was with a fine tooth comb, without the result the clerk was determined to achieve. Finally she said ‘ok, I’ve got something’ - a small superficial scratch on a plastic hubcap! Despite debating the obvious problems with her prosecution case, and having zero deductible insurance, got docked an 80 euro administrative fee. Online, a new hubcap replacement was 25 euro.
The problem is how these workers are incentivized to add costs rather than provide excellent service.

I have a client that rented with Avis in January. Corporate Avis sent a damage invoice in March to the tune of $4000. Client said he did not take photos before or after the rental and SWEARS he did not damage this vehicle.
After disputing the charge with Avis, Corporate came back with 'unless you can prove otherwise, the charge belongs to you".

Sixt are the only option worth considering anywhere imo. More expensive*, but what you get is peace of mind.
Their collection process is also completely automated and there is ample opportunity to upload damage pics via the app or their website. I still usually ask for a human on drop-off just to know I have the all clear.
At this point they are the only provider I trust. Wouldn't compare any others to them, *unless I am factoring in full insurance coverage with the other provider to protect against this type of claim.

Yes the rental location was Spain. Whilst I did respond to their pushback, I’m yet to hear back again! Is there anyway I can prevent them from charging my card?

Scam for sure.no question about it the fact tahtb they contacted you a month later with a sketchy photo . A lot of htis nonsense recently ijn Spain and i knwo of few cases including one I had recenlty with herts in spain. Try Elliott but dont py. if yu fight them you mayu win
