Avis at ATL
How is the Avis station at ATL? The only recent experience I could find was this one which indicates it's abysmal, but the OP of that thread only has one post at FT, so maybe not reliable. (That thread was in the general car rental forum, hence I started this new thread in the Avis forum rather than respond to that.)
I have a reservation there and another with a competitor at ATL in two weeks, but both stations seem pretty bad from what I can gather here at FT...

After arriving, you take a train ride which gives the impression the rental facility is in another state. Pay attention to the escalators which move 1 or 2 floors because the rental car pick up locations are on different floors. I have made that mistake. With Avis Preferred, go to the garage not the long general ticket counter line.

I rent at the AVIS ATL a few times a year. It's no different than any other AVIS at a big airport in my experience. I don't know what you're expecting. Occasionally they don't have the car type I reserved but I can often get a bump up but going to the Preferred agents (which are inside the garage by the cars).

My name wasn't on the board when I arrived, but asking at the desk they gave me the parking slot my reserved car was at. It was an ok car, but the one I got at Hertz suited me better, so I ended up going with Hertz and dropping Avis as a no-show.
However, the rental with Hertz ended up being a long story that hasn't finished yet... I'll post in the Hertz forum when I get the time. Hertz ATL seem to be a very confused location to say the least.
