System Down, No Receipt
Avis- system down, return could not give receipt. Said would e-mail when system back up. Tried to get help from an inexperienced manager and explain there used to be a form for this and manager had no clue, said there was no form, not to worry. Asked for business card and was told they don't have any. The phone number to this Avis is "disconnected" if you dial it and press the option to speak to local representative, so no way to contact them unless in person.
Emailed customer service to open a case and advise of my time returning vehicle.
Five days after rental return, rental still showing active on Avis app.
Filed Avis Escalation complaint. Received e-mail asking me for many details about my rental, where I left it, who I left the keys with, why I didn't ask for a receipt, if tank was full, if I was sure I left it at the right area, etc. Answered those questions.
Two days later received receipt from Avis with proper charge and proper close out.
Really happy was not billed extra or anything. But they used to have a manual form they provided as documentation for return when the system was down. Customer Service claims such a form does not exist. Has anyone else seen it lately?
