Is Avis dropping AARP?

In the October/November, 2021 issue of AARP Magazine, there is a full-page ad for Budget which contains the following language:

"Budget is the exclusive car rental provider for AARP members." (Emphasis added.)

And yet, the Avis/AARP webpage is still live:

Well, Avis and Budget are part of the same company (Avis Budget Group). They also own Payless and Zipcar as well. AARP has a deal with all of their affiliated companies. It sounds like the magazine editors just didn't get the memo:

Except that this was a Budget ad. Presumably, it was created by Avis/Budget Group, or their ad agency, not AARP. And there is no Avis ad in the current issue. That's unusual.

Interesting because I see the AARP discounts on the Budget page, but no longer any AAA discount. Could it be that the latter is now discontinued?

AAA was always partnered with Hertz/Dollar/Thrifty. They were never partnered with Avis or Budget.
