What is going on with the Avis Websites in Europe?
I have tried to log onto Avis.es and Avis.co.uk - both redirect me to a page where you have to state which country web site is being used and does not allow you to put in any discount codes.
Are they doing maintenance on the system or has the booking system changed?

They are doing maintenance on the booking system.
It was down completely from late last night until mid morning.
They seem to have a 'production' version in place at the moment which looks a bit like the old USA one did.
I would hold off until later in the afternoon when it should be back up.

It's been like that for a couple of days now.
My problem is that I can't access 'statement' page [Click here to view your tier status, balance information or our Frequently Asked Questions section, with regard the Avis Preferred loyalty programme]
the error I get is this:
We are sorry for the error. If you signed up to Avis Preferred within the last 24 hours, please allow up to 2 days before you can view your statement
I realised something was up when my Awardwallet couldn't log in either.

Normal service has now resumed.
I was surprised that this relaunch of elements of the site was done midweek as opposed to over a weekend and that it took nearly 2 days to complete.

Seems to be working fine now, but I picked up a rental from Glasgow this morning and although everything had been booked online they needed all credit card/driving licence/Presidents Club details again. Agents said it had been a nightmare and a major IT outage. On the plus side I was given a most generous upgrade as a thanks for my patience! (booked Fiat 500 manual - given Mercedes A Class Auto with Nav).
