Avis Rental problem
Hello, early this yer I made a booking in UK for car hire in Italy using AWD code A515100, I received an email confirmation of booking telling me the charge would be 211.91 Euro, when I arrived at the airport to collect the car a completly different set of charges were printed out there was a 10.45 Euro theft protection added, over nine days 114.69 Euro extra!
The Avis rep said that he was unable to explain it and that to cancel the booking and to make a fresh booking as a walk-in customer would cost more.
Can someone on this extremely helpful forum give me an idea what happened and the best way to deal with Avis about the problem? I have used Avis many times and have never had a problem. Many thanks G
