Chevy Volt?

Has anyone seen/rented a Chevy Volt, either from Avis or another company? Various random news articles seem to indicate that Enterprise has a few in certain states (including in CA), and that Avis has very few, all based at LGA.

Yup, there were 2 at LGA when I was there 2 weeks ago. As a CHM, no luck on getting one. Nor was I able to get a Camaro, Challenger, Linc MKX or Caddy XTS

Was it fully loaded or a base model? Besides having a fancy drivetrain, the Volt shouldn't be a Sig Series. Here's to hoping someone makes a one way drive to LAX so I can have it

I didn't even look inside of them. They were just sitting near the booth next to chargers. The manager wouldn't entertain anything I wanted except the pre-assigned, bare XC60.

I agree it shouldn't be a Sig Series, but for a short rental (12 hour, 80 mile rental) I thought it would be the perfect time to try one.

I doubt a specialty car like the Volt would be allowed for one-ways.

No but one can pickup a car and then call to swap the return location

Just be sure you know your rate code's policies on one-ways so you don't get hit with a huge fee that's unexpected!

Once, after some hesitation, ONT agreed to give me one of the only Cadillac DTSs they've ever seen. I was in SAN when the check engine light came on... swapped it out for a CTS, and when I brought it back to ONT I quipped, "I got something better for ya."

Got it at National. Yes, allowed for one-way. Don't get it though, it stinks
