AVIS Germany
Its been an interesting experience dealing with Avis Germany
We came over on a company assignment and had a vehicle provided as a mini-lease. We arrived before Christmas and asked for a vehicle with winter tyres. We got one with summer tyres. After 20 mins of skidding around the street trying to get back into our driveway we called Avis and cried foul.
So much for 24hrs rescue - best we can do is midday tomorrow! Fortunately we were at "home" - what would they have done if we were on the road?? I dont recall telling them we were at home - just an address.
We booked a car with Navi and were given one without. We suggested why not just upgrade to next class which has built in Navi - nope, no can do, we will bring one from 100+km away with Navi.
ON our final departure, we asked for a one way rental of a 7 seater minivan
We were given a Mercedes Vito 11 seat minibus!!!
At some point in all of this, you would normally go to Hertz or Sixt but since our corporate deals with Avis and I am Avis First you would think it would work out OK.
More of a rant than anything really
I feel better now
Anyone else have fun with Avis.de?
