Avis Discount Code k444404
I just used Avis Discount Code k444404 for a car rental in spain which gave me a ridiculously deep discount! What does this discount code represent and will I need to provide some sort of ID for it when I pick up the car? Anyone?

Again, Google has a bunch of results on this. As with all codes, if you don't know who it's intended for (and you're not part of that group) using it is fraud and can lead to issues when renting, both this time and all future rentals.

I've used it many times over the years and never had an issue, although some are reporting problems with it lately. If it is such a great price just go for it with a backup reservation at another company just in case.

Why use a code you are CLEARLY not eligible for and then circumvent the problem by overbooking!

It's called ETHICS, using a code you're not eligible for is stealing, simple as that.
If Avis did not wish for the code to be used, then all Avis needed to do was change the code, often, and make the changed code known only to the parties which Avis wishes to use that code. Obviously, Avis has a computer system, and they can track the usage of their own discount codes, and if they cannot do that, then that is Avis's problem, not Avis's customer's problem, is it? If it was a problem in Avis's eyes, then Avis could darn well do something about it, yet they have chosen not to, so what's the beef? |

I disagree totally! If the OP made the code up to just try it on a goof and it worked, then she is stealing. However, if the code is published in various places around the Internet, then the code is publically available, just like many other publically available discount codes for Avis, Hertz, Hilton, Marriott, and many other travel companies.

Just because you find a MS Office Professional product code in a Warez forum doesn't mean that you would be using a legal software product.
But depending on what the code is and how it is published it might be public. Or might not be. Only Avis can tell. |

Public codes are one thing, but just because a code is disseminated to the public doesn't make it public. It would be like a credit card number being typed into a web forum by an exgirlfriend. Sure the code is now public, but it doesn't mean it should be used by the general public.

Exactly!!! Avis or anyone else with the state of the economy are most likely, just glad to have the business. If Avis was not able to make a profit at the negotiated AWD price, they would not offer it............

If anyone has a problem using an AWD code, very simple: you dont have to.....
But why bash those of us that want to be smart about taking advantage and using the system???? Some of us are on a travel expense budget, and are private consultants that expense all travel related expenses to companies we are doing work for. |
