40 min layover in SAL for LAX-SAL-MGA: enough time?
My husband and I are booked on UA award tickets on AV/TA for LAX-SAL-MGA in Jan 2016:
AV523 departs LAX 12:35 pm, arrives SAL 7:30 pm...40 MIN LAYOVER
TA315 departs SAL 8:10 pm, arrives MGA 9:05 pm
We will carry on but are a bit nervous about making the connection with just 40 minutes.
I understand that Avianca/Taca are now merged as the same airline and have heard that their SAL gates are close together...but wanted to be sure. Anyone else have any experience with such a short layover in SAL? Are we crazy to try it?
Please help!

Beyond Easy...
As someone who lives in S.A., I am often connecting in SAL on AV. Had 32 minute connections before & it is not a problem.
When you deplane in SAL, you simply walk to your next gate (none are really that far apart BTW). You do not have to clear Customs or immigration...
