You need to redeem with Avianca...however you will find the rules fare less flexible than what is offered by UA in terms of stopovers, choice of routing etc.

If you speak fluent Spanish, it can be a very different experience. Still, it's nowhere near as good as the customer service we constantly complain about on OAL forums.
If you DON'T speak fluent spanish, buy a good book (not too short), and plan on reading it while you are on hold waiting for an agent to answer who sort of speaks English.

Sure,
LifeMiles does not allow stop overs full stop.
LifeMiles will generally not offer connections longer than about 8 hours.
LifeMiles does not allow mixed class itineraries...so for example if I wanted to fly from Australia to the UK in F I cannot book on one award SYD-BKK-FRA in F along with FRA-LHR in J. I'd need to ticket them separately.
