Lifemiles: Not Possible to book flights operated by many regional carriers
I just realized that it is not possible to redeem Lifemiles to book flights operated by regional carriers under LH or OS numbers such as Augsburg Airways (eg., LH GVA-MUC) or Tyrolean Air (many flights of OS) - even though these can be booked with other Star Alliance frequent flyer programs such as UA. I think this may limit the value of Lifemiles for many folks - therefore I decided to start this thread.

I had to redeem UA miles for my trip since Lifemiles would not allow it.

They're also allergic to LH Cityline.
On the search I can enter LH in the airline and if I search with departing airport ABZ...it's cool with that, so clearly LM think ABZ is a LH destination. But it will never offer me an LH ABZ-FRA flight, even though these have excellent availability.
