Off the Trick It topic...

Can confirm that I just booked two C seats on an SQ 77W (albeit a short-haul), when UA.com said only Y was available.
I wasn't even trying for SQ, just used *A as the airline default... looking for MXP-YUL for a friend and his wife for next September.

-MXP-BCN SQ378C 77W
-BCN-YUL AC817C 763

PNR confirmation received within 60 seconds.

yeah. there are some 'exceptions' to the rule out there. especially for some of these shorter add in segments. (one that I wonder how easy it would be to book is the LH F flight Jakarta to Bangkok (or is it KUL) that seems to come up on aeroplan all the time.

I believe you can also book the 77w on some of the services sin to India, and from sin to Melbourne where the 77w is not listed as a scheduled aircraft, but subs from time to time (on the MEL route it seems to be once a week!)

And then I guess a different 2X for the return C2-C3, being as each way is best booked separately? Oh thanks, I see that the eastbound 2X is already identified a few pages back.

Oh wow, there's even a pineapple poke for maple or groom to save 5K on Y!

Gotta love the 1.27 CPM purchase of miles! On the other hand, I see that C2-C6 is 85K LifeMiles vs only 75K on ua.com

Oh goodness, it only took me 30 minutes more to realize that the same thing happens on ua.com, albeit with a different 2X for C3-C2 (thanks, Borat fans!). I am so slow and dense, it's depressing.
don't forget that Borat's close cousins are also very valuable contributors to this fiasco of a routing.

There goes another good redemption. Like LX F. Oh well. Also, is anyone noticing that the SIN-AMS space got pulled? They're apparently refitting the 772ERs with the new seats...

Can't see any LH F availability even while UA shows wide availability. Do you think there is any point in calling them?

If it is more than 14 days out, LH F avails on UA.com are phantom.
Check ANA. If it's showing up on ANA and not on LM, then there is a problem.

No, it is not 14 day out. It is for next week. Also shows on ANA, but not on LM. Are they blocking LH first?
