Any tips on a dayroom near the airport? Is it better to use the one inside security or are there better offerings off-site near the airport?

FWIW, I entered and left ICN on OZ, but wasn't offered a comped hotel room at the transfer desk.

STPC (STopover Paid by Carrier) is only offered on certain paid fares connecting OZ-OZ when there is no better flights. Discounted economy fares are usually excluded.@:-)

Hotel Incheon Airport (airside) has lower rates and you don't need to clear immigration/customs. Hyatt Regency Incheon, across from terminal, is much nicer but usually more than double the price. It depends on if you want to see outside of Incheon airport or not.

My connection was as an OZ F award pax. Terry meant "paid with cash", I think, which was my expectation as well. But I felt it'd never hurt to ask

Does anyone know if this is still the case?

We fly into ICN from HKG in C in the evening and onwards to LAX the following afternoon in F. hoping for a free hotel if possible.

Thanks

HKG-ICN-LAX doesn't qualify as there is same day connection available; e.g. OZ722/OZ204; OZ750/OZ202. This no same day connection rule is based on schedule, not availability.@:-) You might be able to get a day room if flying OZ750/OZ202 on paid F fare since OZ204 doesn't offer F.

I was very unhappy with my room at the airside transit hotel at ICN. It is convenient, no question, but these rooms have no windows at all. Next time, I will be taking the complementary OZ transit room at the June Hotel as I've done several times before. I was considerably more comfortable at the June Hotel than at this transit location.

The OZ comped rooms must be reserved ahead of time, as there is limited capacity. I travel on a regular economy ticket, and have never been refused a hotel room because I call for a reservation at least a month in advance.

I'm looking at a PNH-ICN-SFO itinerary on Asiana that includes a 9 hour stopover at ICN. I can't find anything on the Asiana site about free stopover hotels. Is this program still running? And how would I find out if the flight I am considering is eligible? It's an economy fare in V class.

This flight arrives around 7am and then your next flight leaves around 4:30pm? I don't think that will be enough to qualify for a hotel stay. I think in general you would have to have a layover schedule that is overnight. Still, I would call OZ and check.
