Huge Decrease in Fuel Surcharges as of November 1
OZ will drastically decrease their fuel surcharges for ticketing done between November 1 and December 31, 2008. The decrease more than offsets the previous increase.
One-way surcharges are as follows:
Long haul (Korea-USA/Europe) reduced from $221 to $140
Short haul reduced from $98 to $62
Between Korea/Japan reduced from $50 to $32
As long as you can hold out for another 4 weeks before ticketing you can save quite a bit.

that is good news as well..
howd you learn that fuel surcharges would go down in November a_lee?
i hope their base fares can be competitive as well with other airlines....since their fares from Asia are still a little bit high compared to fares from the US.

I got that information from the news section of their English language website:
http://flyasiana.com/english/
I believe that this surcharge reduction is for flights originating in Korea. For flights originating elsewhere I don't know if the same surcharge pricing applies or not. For instance flights originating in the U.S. already have a lower surcharge I believe, so they may or may not be getting a reduction.
