Delta and Skyteam partners are now able to book flights from France (AF), Netherlands (KLM), the USA (DL), and I assume others to ICN and connect on Asiana from there to SE Asian destinations.

The transition to Skyteam has started.

Interesting. So now OZ has a bit of a double membership, cos it's still possible to redeem for OZ flights using *A programmes. Are the OZ connections under ST starting after 16 December - which is the last date to book OZ as *A?

Availability on OZ for *A has never been that great, in my view. Rates are/were not bad. Hope in the new world with Skyteam it improves somehow. I am interested particularly in EU-SE Asia and viceversa. Ideally J of course.

Under KE, availability is really bad as in maybe 1 j seat per flight.

Also in KE, skyteam redemption requires a roundtrip to/from origin, no one way allowed either.

add in high surcharge and limited partners...it is not good

No, I just flew a flight booked through DL flying DL metal from MSP to ICN (Skyteam) then from ICN to BKK on OZ metal last week. I booked it a week before I flew. I had lot's of options for flying KE or OZ Metal, but rather than landing at 11:30pm or later, I took the OZ metal that was scheduled to land around 10:00pm at BKK. My return flight is KE metal to ICN, then DL from ICN to MSP.

I also just booked a KLM flight from AMS for June to ICN, and connecting on OZ to HKT

Also all of the flight attendants were wearing lanyards from Korean Air on the flight, along with the gate agents, and check in counter staff, but still wearing Asiana uniforms.

Update, even though the flights are live and bookable both as revenue and reward redemptions, Delta at the very least is not giving frequent flyer miles credit at this point. So my flight from ICN to BKK two weeks ago will not earn me any MQDs, RDMs, nor credit toward my Million Miler tiers....

Oh no... that's confusing. Unable to earn DL Skymiles, but able to redeem them for OZ metal. Does that seem right?
