Are business class seats blocked too until 15 days out? Been calling daily and they have no seats, even three days out. Hoping at least business class options in early September.

What dates specifically are you looking at? It's surprising that you can't find any availability. But I suggest staying patient if you can, a week out availability will almost certainly open up for J and/or F.

So I know you don't want to go via the east coast but currently on 9/1 the later ORD-FRA (LH433, B748) on LH has 3+ seats available in business and 1 available in first, and the early JFK-FRA (LH401, A380) has 2 seats available in business and 1 in first. LH401 also currently shows F8A8 (i.e. none of the seats in F are booked), while LH433 is F6A6 so it's definitely possible (albeit not 100%) that more F space will open up closer to departure. So if you're fine with flying a transcon in Y — and if you go via ORD you'll get to check out the Polaris lounge, and there's the LH F lounge in JFK T1 as well — then I'd grab the space while it's still there, and hope more F space opens up and switch the remaining J seats to F.

Also looking at inventory on west coast - FRA:
LAX-FRA (LH457 and LH451 respectively)
8/31 F4A2 and F1A0
9/1 F5A3 and F3A2
9/2 F6A3 and F4A1

while SFO-FRA is F1A0, F2A0, F4A2

So F space on LAX-FRA might open up closer to departure (especially on LH457 on 9/2, the EF seat map actually only shows one seat in the cabin selected), if you're willing to chance it and wait. Also both LH LAX-FRA flights on 9/2 are J9 C9 D9 Z9 P9 so some business space should open up as well.

Thanks! Very nice of you to look that up. We are planning to go to ARN or CPH, and return from either of those cities. Also, we're no longer set on Lufthansa, and will dod SAS or Swiss as well. We're hoping that this means there will be a greater chance we land something. What are you using to look this up btw?

Update: I was able to get biz class ticks for mid-september. Since its only 3000 miles to change the tick, if first class pops up, I will try to do that.

Welp, the US office doesn't open within the 72 hour window, so I can't pay. They will cancel the ticket.

Book it online if you're still more than 72 hours away. This can be done on the Korean version of the site.

THANKS! It just worked. They all told me American credit cards don't work. But it seems that they do now.

I will see up to the leave date if I can pull off first class. It's only 3k to change.
