Can I earn points with OZ on a *A flight number but on shared metal?

Hi Everyone,

I recently flew flight TP7158 and credited it to my Asiana Club account as TP is a Star Alliance member. TP7158 is a codeshare flight on AZ metal, however my boarding pass states "SOLD AS TP7158".

Should I be able to earn the points on this? I'm a little confused :P

Many thanks in advance, it's really appreciated.

No. Within Star Alliance points are earned on the operating carrier, not the marketing carrier. In this case AZ operated the flight, and thus earns no points.

You won't be able to earn points as AZ is not part of *A.

Also, you won't have lounge access if you're *G and flying Y as it's on AZ metal.

What if, you look the flight with United as a United flight, but the metal is Avianca? Will OZ give you points for this flight since both marketing and operator are * Alliance carrier? We may run into this situation this fall.

Yes, you will earn points according to the Avianca earning rates in that case.
