Jakarta Hotels

First trip to Jakarta for business in mid-June. Host company has recommended the following hotels as being near the office:

Four Seasons
Shangri-la
Le Meridien

Given the location of these hotels, are there any others I should consider that would be superior choices to the above?
In taking a look at the reviews, it seems that the FS is the preferred choice. Is that correct?

Thanks!

The LM and the Shangri-La are pretty close to each other, while the FS is a slightly different part of town. Of those 3 hotels, even though I'm a Starwood man, the LM would be the weakest.

If you have the street address of your office I could make a more informed comment as to best location.

I think the Grand Hyatt is in the general area as well. I stayed there a couple of weeks ago, and thought the room was nice. I felt the breakfast was weak, and like the LM one better.

As an IC RA, I usually stay at the IC Midplaza, since the breakfast is pretty good, and the room upgrades/free minibar are nicer.

Thanks. Does Menara Imporium ring a bell? That's all I got. My sense is that these 3 hotels are within 15 mins of the office, with the FS being closest (that's what they tell me). At this point, I'm trying to determine the best hotel for my $$$ and time there.

Thanks

Menara Imperium is on Jalan Rasuna Said. It's actually within about 5 minutes walk of the FS, so that's probably your best bet. It's really just across the road.

The IC, Shangri-La, Grand Hyatt, Marriott Mayflower Apartments, and the new Hotel Indonesia Kempinski are all close by. However in peak hours it'd probably take 20-30 minutes because of traffic and a whole series of one-way streets.

The LM is probably about 10 minutes further away as are the RC and the JW Marriott (although in another direction).

If the choice is just on location the FS is the best choice by far. It's also a lovely hotel. There is also a small complex of apartments called The Kuningan Suites right next to the FS if you want the location without the cost.

I'm debating between the Marriott with no status or the Le Meridien as a Platinum. I think my meetings will be at the Wisma GBKI (sp?) Location-wise they look to be about the same with the LM a tad closer. Any opinions?

One of the best hotels is atually an Indonesian one - Mulia Senayan. for security reasons this is the one my company recommends. Not the cheapest but one of the best I have stayed at anywhere.

I have a friend whose father, husband and friends all stay there. But that isn't among the options I am choosing between.

I've only stayed at the LM once, and as a low level elite. I did find it nice enough and enjoyed the free breakfast.

In a strange twist I'm staying at the IC in the end. Same day that I got my Ambassador pack.

Thanks to the recent IHG Pointsbreaks list and some feedback from Jaimito Cartero, we're currently on the last night of our stay at the IC and don't regret it at all. We also popped down to the LM to check the hotel out as we were passing and the IC definitely felt like the better option from what we could see.

It's hard to beat 5k per night. I'll be there at the end of next week.
