Vietnam visa: I need to enter a day before valid. Problem?
I'm going BKK-HAN on April 30. Problem is my tour company told me we'd be entering VietNam on May 1. So my visa says May 1st entry.
Will this be a problem or are they flexible? I'm still in Washington until 4/27, so it may be possilbe to tussle with the consulate if necessary, but not something I look forward to.
Anybody dealt with this sort of thing before or have an good guesses about attitudes at the HAN entry point?

I would recommend this visa company in Hanoi, who arranged my visa a few months ago for $20 USD. It took about 3 days for them to email me a pre-approval letter which is exchanged for a visa at either HAN or SGN airports.

You will NOT be allowed into Vietnam until the EXACT day specified on your visa. No exceptions.

I would recommend a different Visa company THAT ACCEPTS CREDIT CARDS (Visatovietnam.org does not accept credit card payment for their fee).
Xoom/Western Union or Bank Transfer to pay the fee is very costly and you are totally at risk.
See:

for some other companies...
